The Trust

Vyasa Madhwa Samshodhana Pratishthana is a trust formed mainly for the purpose of disseminating knowledge on Dwaita Philosophy. It is a non-profit organization. Publishing books on Madhwa Philosophy is its current principal activity. It has published till date eighty-seven books in several languages, including Sanskrit, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and English. The Trust was founded by Dr. Vyasanakere Prabhanjanacharya, an eminent Sanskrit scholar, with many awards and titles to his credit.

Dr. Prabhanjanacharya is a very popular Pravachanakara in the southern states and is known for his lucid down to earth style which touches the hearts of the modern youth as well as the traditionalists. The first time listener is very soon transformed as an ardent follower. He is an inspiration to the youth and is a standing example, of a harmonious combination of modern thoughts and traditional values. He has shown that these two are not inherently divergent but only misconceptions among both the protagonists create the divide.

Vyasa Madhwa Samshodhana Pratishtana is dedicated to create the awareness among the people about the teachings of Madhwa and to highlight the relevance of these in everyday life. Religion is no religion if it does not uplift us as better human beings in our dealings with men and matters. We are doing our little bit towards this objective, through publications and discourses.

The publications cater to those who are seriously interested in knowing our ancient scriptures and their full import. The Pravachanas are for the common folk who are busy grappling their day-to-day problems, to relax and ponder to re-orient their priorities and values, which would make their life more meaningful and pleasant. The response to these Pravachanas is overwhelming. We received several requests from within the country and abroad to devise a convenient method, for them to hear these discourses in the comfort of their own homes. It is this, which has prompted us to web-cast the lectures and post them online for download.

For our traditional values to remain active and dynamic, there should be a large number of people practicing them and a sufficient number to preach and propagate these on a sustained basis. With this in view, one of the projects that the Pratishtana will be initiating is to encourage more candidates to take up Vedantic studies. The Pratishtana will scout for talent and provide financial and other support to enable them to complete their studies. On completion, it would help them in getting assignments. Another project, which is on right now, is the life -time pension scheme for aged scholars who have rendered valuable service to community during their prime time who need financial support now. We are also providing educational assistance to bright young students who do not have adequate financial resources to pursue their studies.

While these are a few of our programmes, we will constantly strive for the betterment of our community and to nourish our ancient values, as these are the values which can save us from the degradation we see all around us.
